Why Choose Us for Dog Daycare & Boarding?
We ensure all dogs are daycare friendly.
All dogs go through an evaluation before they can attend daycare. The evaluation
focuses on how the dog reacts to different types of other dogs and the daycare
attendants. Before a dog can be boarded, he/she must attend a half-day of daycare to
ensure they will enjoy their vacation while their parents are away.
We group dogs into three play areas to ensure safe,
compatible play.
We separate dogs into three playgroups based on temperament, size, age, and
personality among other factors. Every dog is assigned a primary playgroup.
We actively manage our playgroups to engage the dogs.
We holdspecial events and themed days to provide even more
fun.
Just like camp, our daycare schedule is structured to provide specific times for daycare tested
toys, snacks, walks, and even naptime. Naps are key to manage the arousal
level of the playgroups and to give each dog some “quiet time”. Some of our past
events have included: birthday parties, bubble days, laser point days, etc.
Your dog gets an outside bathroom break.
We provide all daycare and boarding dogs the chance to eliminate outside several times
a day. Daycare dogs go outside three times a day and dogs spending the night go
outside 5 times.
We offer additional services to pamper your pet.
You can send your dog to the spa while at daycare or being boarded. We can wash
your dog, trim their nails, provide special desserts, supply upgraded bedding, or even a
pet taxi home if you can’t make it to pick your dog up.
We focus on building long-term customer and dog
relationships.
After each day, we provide you with a report card summarizing your dog’s day. If your
dog is spending the night with us, you will get a daily summary upon pick-up. You can
also request a mid-stay update to the email or phone of your choice. And of course you
can call us at anytime to check on your dog.
We strive to get to know your dog better with each visit and have an internal process to
share that information across our daycare team. If we notice any behavior changes, we
share that information with you and can adjust your dog’s activities or have our Dog
Training team recommend options. We strive to exceed your expectations and if we
don’t, we will do our best to work with you to fix it.
We know dogs.
Our owner is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) and attention to pet behavior
is incorporated into everything we do. Our Dog Training Director is also a CPDT and
works closely with our Daycare / Boarding General Manager to ensure our processes
are built with dog behavior in mind.
We are family owned and operated. We support the local
community.
Fur-Get Me Not started as a one-woman business. Over the last 10 years, Tammy has
grown the business to where it is today by focusing on the individual needs of both the
pets in our care and their owners. Both Tammy, and now her husband, Steve, are
always available to receive and act on your feedback.
Tammy and Steve have two young children and a dog, Hunter. As a family, they work
hard at bettering the local community. Fur-Get Me Not works with a variety of pet
related non-profit organizations and we participate in several charity events each year.
We also hold various events at both our Adams Morgan and Arlington locations. We
strive to help educate pet owners and give back to the pet community.
