General Manager Dog Walking & Pet Sitting (salaried position) We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and outgoing individual looking to pair their love of animals with a proven ability to manage people and deliver “best in class” customer service. Fur-Get Me Not is currently looking for a dynamic, self-motivated person to lead our Dog Walking, Pet Sitting and Office Operations as the General Manager of Field Operations. This person reports directly to the Owners of the company. This is a senior manager position within a fast-paced business and would be ideal for a career changer with experience in the restaurant, gym/spa, pet care, or child care field. The successful candidate will be very comfortable and familiar with the Arlington/Alexandria community and immediate surrounding areas including Washington, DC. The candidate will also be able to demonstrate evidence to the practice of a high level of confidentiality and the maturity to act as a role model within and outside the company. Experience: 5+ years as department head, manager, or prior GM experience in a service-oriented business. Education: Bachelor’s Degree Work Environment: Office/Dog Daycare Position: full-time, salaried, Senior Manager Hours: 40+ hours per week, core on-site hours 9am-5pm M-F. In addition, this position requires working a regular on call manager shift within the rotation that includes covering at least one holiday per year. Midday Dog Walkers (part-time) Dog walking is a great way for individuals to get some great exercise and be able to enjoy the outdoors all while caring for man’s best friend. Dog walks are scheduled M-F between the hours of 10am-4pm, so candidates should have similar availability. Candidates should also be confident in their dog handling skills and be comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperament. Candidates must be able to track their schedule in a calendar or planner, be accessible by and responsive to email on a daily basis, and have their own reliable insured vehicle and current driver’s license. Dog walks are assigned within a 5-mile radius of their home but candidates must live within one of our service areas. Minimum 6-month commitment required. Immediate need in Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church, McLean, Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan, Georgetown, Woodley Park, and Capitol Hill areas. Pet Sitting is a great way to supplement a full-time income and also works well paired with dog walking. When clients head out of town and can’t take their pets with them, this is a great option for them. Care is extended primarily to dogs and cats but can include care of more unique domestic animals. Visits are conducted between the hours of 6-9am and 6-9pm with occasional midday visits between 10am-4pm during the weekend. Candidates must have availability during the morning, evening and weekend timeframes in order to be considered. Pet sits are assigned within a 5-mile radius of the sitter’s home but candidates must live within one of our service areas. Candidates with full availability (AM, PM, Overnights, Weekends, Holidays, limited pet restrictions) are preferred. Minimum 6-month commitment required. Immediate need in Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church, McLean, Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan, Georgetown, Woodley Park, and Capitol Hill areas. Daycare Attendants (full-time and part-time) Our dog daycare is a fun and active place for dogs to enjoy the company of other canines and burn off some energy. There is certainly no lack of activity in this environment. Think you can keep up? Candidates should be confident in their dog handling skills, have an understanding of pack behavior with the ability to remain calm and react to aggressive play. The attendant’s job is to keep the dogs safe and happy. That means engaging them in play, supervising their interactions with each other and stifling unwanted behaviors. Minimum 6-month commitment required. Weekday FT/PT shifts scheduled between 6am-8pm M-F and 6am-7pm on Sat/Sun. Part time hourly positions are Sat/Sun 9am-2pm. Dog Wash Attendants (part-time) Although it is a self-service dog wash, our clients still need friendly staff members to help them with the process. Dog Wash Attendants are responsible for supervising our store in Adams Morgan, keeping the bath areas clean, laundering towels, mopping wet areas, running daily operations, collecting payment from customers and settling the POS drawer. Candidates should be friendly, punctual, responsible, have strong communication skills, ability to work independently and enjoy helping customers. Minimum 6-month commitment required. Shifts are Saturdays and Sundays either 8:45am-1:45pm or 1:30-6:30pm. We are also looking for someone to bathe daycare and boarding dogs at our Arlington location betweent the hours of 2-4pm M-F and possibly combine with the Pet Taxi Driver position below.Minimum 6-month commitment required. Sometimes it’s a challenge for clients to transport their dogs to and from our facility. Can you help them? Clients will typically drop off in the mornings by 9am and pickup after 5pm M-F, so candidates need to have similar availability. Candidates should have a reliable insured vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and as with any of our positions a love of dogs! Minimum 6-month commitment required. Shifts are Saturdays and Sundays either 8:45am-1:45pm or 1:30-6:30pm. We are also looking for someone to bathe daycare and boarding dogs at our Arlington location betweent the hours of 2-4pm M-F and possibly combine with the Pet Taxi Driver position below. Minimum 6-month commitment required. Office Managers (full-time and part-time) One of the things that separates us from other pet care companies is our customer service. Our office managers affect a client’s experience in so many ways including their friendliness, communication and efficiency in fulfilling their reservation requests. Candidates applying for this position should be strong in these areas as well as have the ability to handle a fast paced, multi-task and team-oriented environment. 3+ years of work in an office environment as a receptionist, customer service representative or office assistant preferred. Full time hourly positions are M-F with 8-hour shifts scheduled between 6:30am-7:30pm. Part time hourly positions are Sat/Sun 9am-6pm. Fur-Get Me Not is looking for experienced positive reinforcement dog trainers that have been instructing for at least 2 years and have one of the following certifications: CPDT-KA, CPDT-KSA, ACAAB, CDBC, CAAB, CABC, CCAB, DACVB. Must have availability to teach classes on Saturdays. Instructors should be well-versed in clicker training, use positive methods, have a professional, up-beat attitude, and view teaching classes as a partnership between trainer and student.
