January is National Train Your Dog Month
In 2010 the Association of Pet Dog Trainers began the National Train Your Dog Month campaign. The event is designed to promote the importance and benefits of training dogs to become happy and healthy companions. Too many dogs are turned into animal shelters each year for behavior and training issues that could be easily solved with proper socialization and positive, gentle, science-based methods of training. Moreover, we want the public to know that training your dog is not just beneficial, it's FUN!
Fur-Get Me Not is spreading positive dog training in support of this campaign through the following events:
HUGE Retail Sale
Save 50% on all Premier products!
This is your last chance to get Premier items without supporting Petsafe. Premier was bought out and taken over by Petsafe, the #1 shock collar manufacturer. As a positive dog training school, we feel it is important to stay on point and shop products that support the positive dog training message. We are depleting our inventory and have discontinued carrying their products. But don't worry, we have found suitable alternatives and will be able to recommend products that serve the same purpose and are just as reliable.
ASK THE TRAINER
Sunday, January 15th @ 1pm
This event is FREE but please register online or email trainer so we have ample seating. Are there questions you have about training or behavior you are dying to ask, but never had the opportunity? Fur-Get Me Not is hosting a free "Ask the Trainer" session at our Dog Training School in Arlington (4120 S Four Mile Run Drive). Come by, take a tour of our school, and ask any question you have about dogs. It can be specific to your current situation or about training or dog behavior in general. The session will be led by Fur-Get Me Not lead trainers, who are Certified Professional Dog Trainers, Knowledge and Skills Assessed (CPDT-KSA).
AKC Canine Good Citizen Test
Sunday, January 29 @ 1pm
Emphasis on responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. Test fees are $20 per dog. Pre-registration is preferred but walk-ins are welcome. Test fees are non-refundable.
